If you are the kind of person who switches between apps in a cycle waiting for new stuff to appear, consider adding an app which does not depend on a feed of live user-generated content to that rotation which will let you break the loop. Ebooks, podcasts, language-learning and practice apps can all provide a healthy and productive way out of that cycle. I like using KOReader to pull up a book while I'm out and about and don't want people looking at my timelines and feeds anyways.
