question for other computer touching educators:

if I have a student who has a project concept that’s way out of their league in terms of required programming skillset, but the student is insistent on doing the project NOW rather than revisiting it later after some time spent skilling up, what are some strategies for assisting the student with their process (while avoiding doing the work for them) and helping them navigate the inevitable crunch-fallout toward the end of the semester?

Apparently, as @f and @ssg mentioned, Bluesky has started honoring account restriction / takedown requests from Turkish government.

Bluesky has been a haven for Turkish leftist people, because both the government and X has restricted access to the leftist accounts.

After people accepted Bluesky as a safe place, their "limiting access of accounts to specific regions" is frustrating, and exhausting.

I've been promoting ActivityPub / Mastodon for years, and I'll keep on doing so.

Please boost this for reach! :boost_requested: (Mutual Aid study continued)

For those who do not boost mutual aid, do any of the following negative feelings about mutual aid requests contribute to not boosting them?

Please boost this for reach! :boost_requested:

I am curious. For folks on here who don’t boost mutual aid requests, why is that?

We can throw all of it into the grave alongside them

Every year, alongside many others, we observe April 15 as Steal Something from Work Day—an opportunity to reflect on the causes and implications of workplace theft.

crimethinc.com/StealfromWork20

This year, we turn our focus to so-called “Robin Hood employees”—those who steal from their workplaces in order to share with others. Loss prevention professionals allege that Robin Hood employees inflict losses on corporations much more efficiently than ordinary shoplifters or employees who only steal for their own benefit.

In other words, when it comes to redistributing wealth, the most effective approach is not to take things for yourself, but to share them with everyone.

It's April 15.... while the elites are celebrating (don't have to pay) tax day, for the rest of us it's Steal Something From Work Day!
