It is very confusing when using my phone with a right to left language enabled and none of the apps switch the directions of the swipes and gestures accordingly. Swiping right to left will consistently bring up a menu on the opposite side than what I'd expect and vice-versa.

like a great example of this is needing a wheelchair. so what if your legs don't work? I'm a programmer; almost all of my job (if I had one) is done sitting down.
the reason why needing a wheelchair (or the reasons for needing, whatever) is a disability is because society constantly deems this accommodation too burdensome and instead just forces wheelchair users to suffer in rude af ways.
like, yeah, there's no question that a wheelchair is something that some people need because of a physical condition. but, for example, so are glasses, and most people who need glasses but can see okay with them don't even consider themselves disabled as a result. people who can't move without a wheelchair often move perfectly fine with one, but we don't give them the space or ramps or anything they need to successfully exist in spaces with their wheelchairs.
so, the point here is that while the underlying conditions that lead to disability are real and shouldn't be ignored, largely, the reason why we consider things to be disabilities is more focused on not wanting to deal with the accommodations, rather than the reasons

This isn't universal, this is just a pattern I've noticed.
I think a lot of people think they are being replaced by a machine. Whether it is creative workers or everyday laborers, in more and more of their tasks. I would like to offer an alternative explanation, as technology is not magic, and often comes with a huge maintenance burden.
Modern labor issues ought to highlight how much corporations want to replace a mass of moderately-trained employees with an extremely specialized and overextended set of maintenance specialists. It's not "AI" it isn't "IoT", it's not "self-service", it is small traveling crews of IT maintenance people. Sometimes in combination with outsourced menial IT tasks instead of purely mechanical compute. Labor is not being automated, it is being replaced with tech workers who are at once being stretched thin and also exploiting everyone around them in shittier system maintenance roles. This is attractive to corporations because they can subcontract the tech work and use them as pawns in disputes with labor, later throwing the sub-contractor under the bus if the ploy doesn't work without losing much of anything. This can be a very incremental process, with only very small parts of work becoming pure IT maintenance at a time.
