bad scifi I won't name the title of

I've been posting through reading bad scifi as of late if you follow me. Recently I stumbled across some pre-ancient aliens TV show ancient aliens scifi which references Chariots of the Gods from Erich von Däniken sympathetically. It is weirdly anti-evolved intelligence as well. Which has me thinking if "uplift" into sapience as a scifi trope is just intricately connected with colonialism and the ancient aliens trope of "anything old made by non-white people required aliens". I haven't read any scifi featuring the uplift trope until now and I am thinking that the co-occurence of ancient aliens isn't a cultural coincidence.

Something about 2001 being the start year in the menu dialog... Hits different... :gwbush: :911:

The future should have been automatic battery hotswapping, instead of developing slightly better fast charging technology and sharing data and power delivery.

Nowadays you can't even replace most batteries.

@tea they could just not have many friends, being shy. There really aren't that many of us and we seek each other out intentionally.

I remember hearing reports of ICE deporting African Americans *during the Obama years*

All ICE is for is social management (ie disappearing "dangerous" or *superfluous" people) in the interest of maintaining state power

you wanted to know what antiblackness looks like? don't know where to find out? here's james baldwin telling you... decades ago. it's not that there isn't ample information to educate yourselves, it's that you can't be bothered to do the work.

Looks like both prospective roommates we were going to talk to today flaked. If you know anyone in Northampton, MA that needs a place to live starting September. We need the lease signed by May.

Apparently, all RSS readers are banned on Google Play:

Google added some restrictions to news app and I don’t see how Flym (and other RSS aggregators) could comply to that. For instance, Flym cannot provide a “valid and verifiable contact information” for the feed, nor it can assure that “each of the sources must meet News policy requirements”.

As of today, Flym updates on Play Store are blocked by Google. So I have archived this project in order to clearly show that I won’t maintain it anymore. I’m not aware of any official way of publishing an RSS client on PlayStore and do not have motivation to argue with Google.

Just one more argument against ever using Google Play.

I will not explain further. vote now.

When you are being asked to not rock the boat on fedi.

People need an explanation for your niche domain or subcommunity specifix knowledge. Has everyone forgotten this? The internet is not a font of perfect total information. Where do we go to learn more? What did you mean by this?

I keep running into this more and more. Like that xkcd: xkcd.com/2501

I used to read this book a lot in the library as a kid.
