wrote a nixos package for gitea-registration-proxy, service module comes next after dinner

interesting btw that most of these gitea spam signups come from tor exit nodes (no, i'm not going to do any blocking)

now let's try writing a nixos package/module for it?

@forestjohnson @starless code is now on git.pixie.town/f0x/gitea-regis, should be easy to tweak :)

biggest downside is with just a custom template you can't really get feedback in the html, hence also why a failed haiku sends you to a very bare page

@forestjohnson @starless the majority doesn't do anything, but quite a lot of them also create profiles, repos and organizations with various spam messages

I think they're real users because my simple hidden form technique didn't stop them at all. Could also just be more sophisticated botting tho

@elfi it's not even virtualized here! this is legit windows on a legit normal install

ah there's a different page for an identical looking product but it has a win10 version and a very reasonable (ahum) 190Mb download, let's try that!

trust me guys, 2021 will be the year of the windows desktop

oh my god I can download a driver from Trust

Windows 7 is the last supported version

It's 407 fucking MB

lol bluetooth unusable under linux? always just worked for me

windows now tho? no luck! "driver error"

@starless @forestjohnson oh yeah, I remember that!
Sadly it seems these are people manually creating spam accounts, so none of these solutions really work, short of doing approval based signups :|

"now let's see what's new with windows"

like I give a fuck?

ok windows seems to have fucked up installing a bootloader, but maybe GRUB can now detect it (prefered route anyways)

also, hibernation worked!!! this will make switching between boots so much faster

also seems to have accepted the license key I extracted from my thinkpad's EFI, which I also used in a vm previously

took forever to create a new install usb from my laptop, now it's installing I think, finally
