can't you just setup tailscale or wireguard or something and abuse steam family sharing's new system by faking the family coming from one IP? Then just play the shared games from the saved files on disk once you are off the shared network?
Just combine that with enabling peer to peer "LAN downloads" in your settings when you join, basically official Gabe Newell p2p game sharing.

My home has an evil ghost in it that will put a curse on you if you mention 'bad feng shui' in my home. And the curses effects are waaay worse than the effects of any bad feng shui. Also you will be haunted if you try burning sage. Yeah, really picky ghost, I know, but ya gotta trust and respect spirits in my home. Dreamcatchers tend to catch fire too, so don't leave any of those around either, it sets off the fire alarm and I am really sick of explaining that to the neighbors.
