Every year at least once a year I think about the fosstodon user who kept arguing that my license preventing child labor was at odds with freedom because he wouldn't be able to write software for a shift-clock for sweating his kids at the lemonade stand.

had to order something from best buy and took a look at the order tracking. dude what the fuck is roadie. it's pretty bleak when UPS, like the delivery service, is outsourcing their last mile deliveries to drivers in the doordash style. how gross

my therapist didn't laugh at my joke and started taking notes instead
she is stealing my joke

Fucking wild that YouTube will try suggesting autocaptions on videos that already have legitimate closed captioning. Why even bother wasting compute and electricity on generating them?

Perhaps bigots should be filtered at the existence level, before accessing any network protocols.

more training is just justification for cop cities

Sorry Jimmy. I know you already had a hard day at school, but you forgot to clock in at the lemonade stand so I'm gonna have to dock your pay.

Next year at the FSF we are partnering with Northrup Grumann to ensure the entire stack, from the runway to the killing fields, is fully libre. Right now users have complained that the missiles killing them contain non-free proprietary "blobs" and we heard you! Next year you can be reduced to cinders and ash by anyone willing to reciprocate with open contributions to the Torment Nexus.

Don't worry! It runs Linux and FOSS software is here to help you! If we restricted this usage you would be less free. Oh. And missiles just do that. Sorry about your house.

Have foss-advocates ever tallied how many of their own contributors are killed by drones loaded with FLOSS software? Is it really fair to say that waiving all usage restrictions has no human impact?

Fossbros keep insisting that fully libre software stacks will outcompete megacorp crap in a "free market". Sorry but Gabe Newell doesn't give a single fuck and Steam will be closed shit fuckware forever. Get screwed over.

When you look at devices running fully libre software stacks (by OSI/FSF definitions) they are boutique computer resellers that could never and will never scale to meet any kind of wider demand.

It really shouldn't be a problem for commercial computers to ship with a minimal software suite which encourages loading a more comprehensive non-commercially licensed, and even ethical open source software stack afterwards, with a few clicks (user accepts the more specific terms of a broader OS/spin/config than what ships after purchase). It literally just can't come pre-loaded as part of the price.

But no, they'll just argue in bad faith that the next version of FBANeo will inevitably have to come bundled with DRM for enforcement because they can only think like right-libertarians or cops.

I really hate how much fossbros take a hard stance against non-commercial software and assets. Right-libertarian weirdos just want software to be free labor for megacorps forever. I want software to be and remain open for primarily for the good of the planet and human society. These are NOT the same.
