ACPI is so weird. Who decided that I should be able to hibernate Linux, boot Windows, shutdown windows, and resume Linux from hibernation? That's just wild that we can do that.
The only possible improvement is simply abolishing the distinction between powered and unpowered entirely. Look up intermittent computing if you are curious, no battery, no A/C wall power, no problem.

If you're using Windows or macOS and have Adobe Creative Cloud installed, you may want to take a peek at your hosts file. It turns out Adobe adds a bunch of entries into the hosts file, for a very stupid reason.
I found that in my hosts file the other day too, and I investigated to find why they're doing

As an app hater myself I think modern games normalizing forcing the player to install quest-required apps for their in-game phone is harmful to kids. Especially when the NPC advertising it to the protagonist gives you a yes/no prompt which is a non-choice (you have to accept it and it just treats no as being a little cheeky or silly). Where are the games where you can say no to the stupid apps and play more traditionally without a fake in game smartphone? Where are the games that teach kids they are allowed to say "no"?

It's not often I go "Angry Black Feminist" in our small rural newspaper where everyone is white and happy, but the signs at the No Kings protest fucking broke me.
Ableism, fatphobia, hatred of neurodivergence, ageism. Everyone trying to one-up the other with a sign about how ugly Trump is or some shit. It was a fucking hellscape.
