Not sure how I missed this news, but apparently Florida is keeping the multi-cides going by slashing access to AIDS treatment.

As someone who held my elders in my arms as they died one after the other, and helped their friends and partners struggle with the aftermath while their birth families looked away… Fuck everyone involved in this.

“NASTAD estimates that more than 16,000 people will lose ADAP coverage. This means that roughly half of all Floridians currently relying on ADAP for uninterrupted access to HIV treatment are at immediate risk of treatment disruption solely due to an administrative eligibility change, not clinical need.”

Ready access to modern AIDS treatments and prophylaxis is good for EVERYONE. The theoretical cost savings they’ll get by slashing this program will be utterly dwarfed by the societal costs when we start dealing with the reality of untreated AIDS.

does anyone know of tech groups working against ICE? a friend of mine contacted me asking about resources as someone they know got taken (she's okay but traumatized).

i'm finding it difficult to find orgs that can help beyond the big USA-wide ones, which often don't have boots on the ground. wondering if there's any projects working on this!
