I'm as anticapitalist as the next [Entity Descriptor] but that's just step zero.

'capitalism' 'capitalism' 'capitalism'

Describing the modern state of things as merely 'capitalism' or 'late stage capitalism' is really not that helpful. You can afford to choose a more specific term or be more descriptive. Like obviously there are issues with Capitalism generally, people make careers off of describing that. But maybe it is more useful to target the actual status-quo rather than its unrealized or only partially reified platonic ideal? Or going the socialist variant of apocalyptic about it?

Or maybe it is not only worth talking in terms of further specifics, but also talking about something more general than 'capitalism', since unlike what a bunch of brocialists think we've got a number of mostly unrelated problems.

Something about just ranting about 'capitalism' is neither specific enough nor general enough when you are defining what is so oppressive about life on earth now.

Is hyphenating compound words that contain "cyber" , cyber? Or is leaving the hyphen out more cyber?

Which is more cyber :cyber: for example:

Cyberdisc or
Cyber-disc

:ai: "AI" , Microsoft Dotnet, dogfooding humilation

Just when you start to think Microsoft's tech debt problem couldn't possibly get any worse: github.com/dotnet/runtime/pull

Maybe corporate is looking for agentic AI :ai: to save them from scabs, kind of like in other industries. This is just a test, but the public AI dog-fooding burnout just shows how far the hype is from reality. The question remains: how long is tech capital willing to strike against tech workers, with hopes of an 'AI bailout'? Will the money run out first, or will hype hubris strike first?

Anyways, Stephen Toub is hilarious. All his GitHub activity is *like this* , just herding copilot around like a matador in a china shop. Enjoy this hilarious quip from the GitHub thread.
