nederland.gay aims to be a small and cozy instance serving the bilingual (english+dutch) audience, especially queer and otherwise marginalized folk (but we welcome anyone who has their heart in the right place)

i want it to become an alternative since there’s very little places on fedi that seem to cater to dutch speakers (native or not), and the options available at hand are too.. generalist so to say

we just happened to become a thing today, so we want to federate with fedi and crashtest this thing.

we run on akkoma, have plenty of custom emojis (you can ask for more if you’d like!) and plenty of room for new people

hi, im rachael. im a transfem nonbinary woman in indiana who was fired last year for being trans. my disabled nonbinary partner @raptorchildcreations, our two dogs, and i are now at risk of losing our home because despite constant job searching and frequent interviews, no one here is willing to hire a trans woman and remote positions are few.

im trying my absolute best to get us out of this situation. i want nothing more than to feel secure again and to be able to give back to the queer community and contribute to mutual aid myself. people supporting these posts are the only reason im not homeless. some of you have already helped us this month and we are enternally grateful. any you can give, and if you cant give, a boost, would be so wonderful.

I'm getting really frustrated by seeing people scaremongering about microplastics in, like, random objects without ever acknowledging that most of the microplastics in the air and local water supply is literally tire dust
