People complaining about echo chambers when they surround themselves with the very specific kind of person willing to tolerate a badly moderated free for all public forum with no standards. As if that isn't selecting for a kind of "echo" in itself.

Also: Libraries aren't full of echoes for a reason.

In 2022, a movement in Iran brought people together on the basis of feminism, ethnic pluralism, and grassroots change.

Since then, state repression, monarchist efforts to co-opt resistance, and finally imperialist attacks from the US and Israel have eclipsed those possibilities. All of these forms of counterrevolution are interrelated and draw momentum from each other, even as they appear to be adversaries.

Never forget the stakes of this fight. Wherever we fail to advance the cause of liberation, the consequence will be oppression, warfare, destruction, and despair.

I love all bivalves. But I have to admit that zebra and quagga mussels are pretty sinister. They are in the same genus, native to the Caspian Sea, and have completely re-engineered the Great Lakes since they invaded in the 80s via ship ballast water. They eat all the good plankton (encouraging harmful cyanobacterial blooms), block the sediment and even smother native bivalves! Our introduction of them is thought to be responsible for the decline of several fish and other animals over the last several decades #clamFacts

So ahh!!! I was interviewed by Trans News Network about my work around #YourSlipIsShowing and online dis/misinfo and how since coming out as trans I'm watching my labor and legacy get erased in real time, and how honestly difficult it's been.

@BestGirlGrace is this sussy icecast running from a hidden service in Termux?

@ranja yeah that falls into the category of "its basically batteries" but is still some impressive shenanigans.

ACPI is so weird. Who decided that I should be able to hibernate Linux, boot Windows, shutdown windows, and resume Linux from hibernation? That's just wild that we can do that.

The only possible improvement is simply abolishing the distinction between powered and unpowered entirely. Look up intermittent computing if you are curious, no battery, no A/C wall power, no problem.

@ranja community has never been a good aspect of the anti-systemd crowd. Maybe it will get better now.
