:liberapay: liberapay.com/f0x

I host the pixie.town Mastodon and Matrix servers (and a bunch of other smaller services).

I also work on a variety of projects, like the ActivityPub server and a new ActivityPub client , as well as a bunch of other projects you can find at git.pixie.town/f0x

social.pixie.town is co-moderated by @thufie, she has a liberapay at liberapay.com/thufie

Support your local server before you support official Mastodon development!

Check what fork your local server runs before you support the official Mastodon development.

You'll find some really cool people, and Your money will probably have a much larger impact supporting the local server and forks.

@gled @kemonine it's git.pixie.town/f0x/fedifox/ but it's a very new project, so functionality is limited (currently read-only for example)

merovingian.club

I got as far as the header image calling it the instance for "redpilled exiles" when I was checking whether to forward a report on someone for inflammatory behaviour

@rune it's completely absurd how long their pages take to load.. seriously how.

maybe someone should tell them what a bundler is, or that you can definitely show a thread without multiple blocking random unrelated api requests (that also take ages for some reason)

or at the very least just include the bare minimum info about an account, like username, url, displayname, avatar link. Not their whole bio lol

Show thread

rather wasteful for bandwidth tbqh, it's convenient but I really would've expected a toot to just contain it's actual contents, with a reference to the accounts involved, and separate API routes to get information about an account

Show thread

still gotta investigate storing toots (and accounts?) in indexeddb instead of localstorage

Show thread

@kemonine also joining :pixie.town on Matrix might be easier to get support

@kemonine try a git pull && yarn install, which includes some dependency upgrades. What's the actual validation error when running without an env?

@tubtiana@tech.lgbt well in the grand scheme of things it's pretty micro

(every single toot response includes the full account info of the poster (and if it's boosted, that account too), so much more compact to store those separately, deduplicated across toots)

Show thread

new toot/account storage format is almost a 50% reduction :)

@kemonine latest should be fine yes, not sure how much docker really adds here though

@kemonine basically a git clone, yarn install and then run `NODE_ENV=development node index.js` which will run a local dev server with livereloading. just `node index.js` will generate a production bundle, and the assets/ folder can then be deployed on any static webserver

@kemonine oh, well currently it's all ordered just based on the order it's received from the server, so I think that solves your issue?
