@juliana In the Netherlands, it's common practice to visit a local "kraakspreekuur" ("squatting office hours"), to get advice and support from existing squatters.
However, the practices and available support networks vary widely by country, also in part because of different legal protections (and non-protections) between countries.
So generally I'd recommend to ask the question specifically for a given country, or if at all possible, finding some local support group for it :)
This is particularly true because squatting is often a group activity, with different people responsible for different parts of the process to keep everybody safe.

I think of when moderation crises have happened in closed social networks, there's no real recourse or remediation.
On the fediverse, there seems to be at least some mitigation afforded by federation and account migration, allowing community to have some resilience to crisis.

The ostensible promise of technology is that it would liberate humanity from the drudgery of menial work, enabling us to engage with more meaningful and creative pursuits.
Instead, we have frenzied development of ML systems to centralize and replace writing, art and other meaningful creative pursuits, giving us more time for menial work.
This seems pretty contrary to any useful definition of progress.

Did you know that Puppy Linux:
- Could boot from CD/DVD and save your session *to that same CD/DVD* without any HDD present
- Had immutable self-contained application images like a decade ago, before it was cool
- Has a full-blown and feature-complete graphical music player written in... Bash
Even if I probably wouldn't use it as my daily driver, it's such an absurdly cool distro
@jonah That matches my observations, yeah. It's mainly the "evangelists" who are almost universally problematic...
@jonah It's a bit less bad with general tech youtubers, but something about the Linux/FOSS-specific crowd is just a real magnet for fash, it seems
@jonah Prevalent enough that finding an unproblematic Linux/FOSS youtuber is the exception rather than the rule, and something you actually actively need to search for :/
