@rune Hm, the game still seems to insist on spawning large volumes of cars anywhere I haven't explicitly marked "no cars". Haven't found a solution for that :/

@rune I sometimes feel like I'm the only person who doesn't experience this. Probably because I kinda bounced off on its car-centric game design?

@welshpixie @fluffy Should be fine then :) No idea about the hashtag search behaviour, though.

@welshpixie @fluffy For the second question: yes. Explicitly boosted toots will not be affected by the silence.

There does seem to be a bug when you downgrade from a block to a silence, where previously-known accounts from that instance remain wholly blocked/suspended. At least in upstream Mastodon.

I'm going to share this again, so new to Fedi people can see that there is a big community of people with chronic illness here.

There is also a some groups** you can follow here on the Fedi:

@mecfs
@chronicillness
@disability
@longcovid

If you follow these groups, you'll get any toots from people* who include this account in their toots when they are sharing #MECFS posts etc. You can add this to your toots about mecfs etc too.

*including researchers, you are very welcome!

**Groups are a free tool that anyone can use to set up for other illnesses, etc.

#MECFS #ChronicIllness #LongCovid #Disability #Fibromyalgia

re: meta, colonialism

@owl To clarify: I don't believe the impact is remotely the same, of course. I *do* think the mechanisms are very similar, and that it is also roughly the same type of people employing them. Like how many of the loudest people around this have a bio full of "USA! USA! The best country in the world!" and so on.

This is not so much meant to imply that it is *exactly the same as* colonialism, as it is meant to recognize that the dynamics behind colonialism are not just a thing of the past, but still very much alive, and not something that (especially technical) folks are isolated from just because they don't work in electoral politics.

(I've naturally been avoiding the 'refugee' term as well, for exactly the reasons you're suggesting)

meta, colonialism

@joepie91

This isn't a community. This is a big tent.

Well, if that's your opinion of this place, then don't blame us for thinking you're a clown - because you're already treating it like a circus.

Observation: Twitter is losing notifications for me, but the supposedly unreliable fedi isn't

meta, colonialism

@xenophora @joepie91 @thufie big "when all you have known is privilege equality feels like oppression" energy in that thread. watching people fluster because they've never seen communities meaningfully and effectively exercise agency around what gets pushed at them is really something.

meta, colonialism

@thufie @xenophora But isn't the internet just a US thing???? You mean there are other people on there??

meta, colonialism

@xenophora @thufie "Why would you CW election day stuff when everybody is talking about it???"

Well gee I wonder if *that might be the exact reason*

meta, colonialism

@xenophora @thufie Thing is, *almost everybody else* in that thread is just as bad or worse... :|

mental health adjacent

@MerlinJStar@mastodon.lol I... think that applies to me? It's hard to say because ADHD can totally wreck my focus and therefore any ability to read, especially complex texts... but when my brain is in the right 'state', I can tear through even highly specialized (eg. legal) texts with no problem at all.

And written material is definitely almost always easier for me to take in than spoken information, though that's probably related to auditory issues and being unable to control the "ingest speed" there.

I don't know, it's all a bit of a mess honestly.

twitter meta

Now i know why musk entered twitter HQ with a sink. Cause he was about to sink the company.
