@whatanerd Yep, I feel this. Unfortunately none of the options here are really any better... the cumin cheese from Albert Heijn was a bit better, but in terms of 'standard' gouda-style slices, the Lidl one was actually the *better* one :(

@Jerry@hear-me.social @aral It's a "vulnerability" in the same sense that it's a "vulnerability" that you can fairly trivially set buildings on fire for no reason if you really wanted to - it's a misuse of legitimate access/privileges for an unsanctioned purpose, in a way that's not preventable through technical measures.
That's why it's so important to look at fediverse security not just from a technical perspective, but also from a 'collective safety' perspective where people are held accountable for malicious behaviour.
Honestly it was almost indistinguishable from one of the better 'real' burgers I used to order

Useful term I discovered this week: “toxic mimicry”. It’s the pattern of substituting systems/organisations/services that look superficially like they fill a core societal need but in fact act to take up the space that a genuine system would fill, and only provide virtual nutrition.
Examples:
- 6pm TV news mimics public discourse
- Malls mimic public spaces
- Daycare mimics collective child rearing
I like the term as it suggests something predatory and insidious.
@f0x You *can* have multiple stores, but then there won't be any integration points between them AFAIK - only half of modularity is about isolation, the other half is about having ergonomic ways to break that modularity in controlled ways

Never do total UI overhauls. Instead, take your "target UI", the thing that you're trying to work towards... and just change one thing. A single thing. A small one, that's easy to get used to.
Next week, do the same. The week after that, do the same. Introduce the changes very gradually and very slowly, so that the end user never feels lost, and never suddenly has to adapt to a new UI to get their work done. Ideally they shouldn't even notice the change.
There's a reason that so many especially older folks kept insisting on using Yahoo services, despite the severe mismanagement within the company.
