Love how the design rationale behind Vulkan seems to boil down to "none of these vendors can be trusted to read a fucking spec, so let's make it as low-level as possible so that they just *can't* fuck it up even if they tried"
Imagine how much better the world would be if everybody just learned three things:
1. Don't propose replacing or abolishing a solution until you understand what led to its creation
2. ... but don't assume that traditional/widespread solutions *or* people with more experience are automatically correct, either!
3. Discussions should be like a collaborative project, not like a competitive debate

And while they've at least documented their design (unlike Signal), it's broken in all the same ways, and doesn't really provide any more protection than a user-identifier-based system would.
