@schratze Same thing for all the pseudo-romance filler in what could've otherwise been good fictional shows, especially in the US. Lots of abusive behaviour and people unable (and unwilling) to deal with jealousy, always the same tired "oh no two people like the same other person" trope, and never any capability to deal with it like an adult. And often even an explicit "yes I know that was shitty of me, but I loved you, what can I say"
I kind of don't like this thing that happens in many sitcoms where characters are complete assholes to each other and prank each other and shout at each other 90% of the time and then they shoehorn in stone heartfelt moments where they get all lovey dovey with each other and you're supposed to get the impression that actually, they really loved each other all this time
Lowkey normalizes abusive relationships
"The behavior of the police at Robb Elementary is only shocking if you are committed to a mythic notion of what policing entails. The “thin blue line” does not separate society from chaos. It instead separates those empowered by the state to uphold racial capitalism with violence... In the face of centuries of evidence exposing what the work of policing actually entails - and does not entail - the true ideologues are those committed to policing as a solution."

@efi @welshpixie I'm inferring from the specific typo - "if all of your devices are compatibility" is a type of error that I've mainly seen from India-outsourced support workers. It's possible that it also occurs elsewhere, though, and I just don't know about it :)
@efi @welshpixie Yeah, that "if all of your devices are compatibility" is a red flag - most likely it's outsourced to India. And the problem there isn't India, but that such outsourced customer support teams almost never actually have access to anything internal, so they just end up being used as underpaid human shields for angry customers :(
If you're interested in FOSS, UX, community dynamics, terminology/language, communication, accessibility, and how all of these things intersect... this thread is a very fascinating read: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43501
It's like a little microcosm of FreeCAD as a project, the issues it runs into, the (problematic) community dynamics, conflicting interests/priorities, and FOSS accessibility issues
Warning: There’s an app for blurring out sensitive information in images called Obfuscate being featured on #GNOME Software right now.
Please be careful.
The default blur setting can easily be reversed.
The default should be to replace the areas with a solid colour or a pattern not derived from the underlying information.
This really should not be a featured app in its current state.
@ExperimentV Ahh, I recall a similar incident here with UPC (an ISP) and their shitty marketing strategy; mailing out modems or something to people unsolicited, with a fine print of "if you don't return this, then you accept our offer for $expensiveService"
Plenty of people returned the box with the included return label... just containing bricks instead of the original modem
