uni

i've really gone into minimal effort mode wrt watching lectures etc, we'll see if I pass these two courses but honestly I wouldn't mind that much either way

Show thread

bunch of dislike from other students as well heh, why did they hype this up as "the most interesting lecture of the course" lol

Show thread

some comparison shots between focal lengths, 28mm (Sigma), 80mm (my new Canon), 200mm (that same Canon)

200mm is really great (320mm with crop factor), that birb was quite far away

cw: seagull :P

fits totally with this course forcing us to read 'homo deus', the techbro book, as well

Show thread

ughh guest lecturer just hyping themselves/their company up sooo much

now i just need to get some birds to the yard (anyone have a milkshake?)

Show thread

and actually delivered :D lens worked but I could only snap 2 pictures before I had to use my dslr as a webcam for the next meeting again lol

Show thread

:O pakidge moved up from 'expected delivery tomorrow' to 'driver is on their way now' ooooh

Bad sleep, tarot, overwork, python, git

Hi hello, I have a meeting in six hours and I haven't slept yet. But! Tonight I re-implemented the basics for my tarot reading generator and made some good steps towards getting it running as a little app on a raspi with a touch screen! And, the whole thing talks to a receipt printer, and it's on git.

Next up is installing the dependencies on the pi, being kinder to the folks hosting my code rn (I haven't written an ignore file yet...), and building a card interpretation dictionary and printing that alongside the card image.

But hey, I'd put this part off forever, so yay for doing the first step. It's hosted here, if you want to read. It's a lot of sample code still floating around. giit.cyberia.club/~starless/ta

a good way to handle media is still an issue tho, has any other static site gen even solved that... (other than my current, just copy that dir to the output)

Show thread

yeah that never works because I really have to see the code in front of me too, but outside is nice!

Show thread

ok im gonna enjoy the evening sun outside, while writing down static site architecture in easily programmable chunks

seems I can do (small) focussed programming just fine still, just having a very hard time with the bigger architectural things, even when trying to split it up in small chunks for exactly this reason
