@f0x I've been using mine for a couple days. There are still a few hardware issues they need to work out. When the battery goes below 60%, your system will lock up if you have an NVME drive installed. Someone is working on designing a PCB to fix that.
There are also some rollover issues with the keyboard, you can't press control shift tab and some other combinations. There is also some buzzing from some components on the board if your brightness is below around 70%.
Mainline kernel support is getting better. Manjaro has the best hardware support right now, the GPU performance is a lot better than the stock OS, although suspend doesn't work. Swaywm is working pretty well on it.

did a photoshoot with my pet dragon, as reference for the logo of my todo/calendar thing. Still needs a name tho, suggestions welcome

I do have a logo idea already, a dragon hoarding a stack of post-its (it's a todolist/calendar type thing)

it'll probably be better to just downclock my t460s to the minimum, maybe get a usb bluetooth thingie if it's more efficient

hey any pinebook pro users want to give some feedback? I'm worried the 4gb of RAM is gonna be quite limited (and it's not upgradable, right?), and CPU and battery specs seem kinda underwhelming too.
I would love to use it on the go and get a beefier system for at home, but as a webdev who uses vscode and usually sits at around 9G of RAM

fuck I wanted to get a usb-c to thinkpad square cable, which should really be a simple, cheap thing. But the official one can only be bought with some powerbank, and most other ones are sold for 40+ fucking euros FOR A CABLE

and then there's aliexpress for 3$ but that's kinda sketchy for 45W - 60W

@f0x you used to be an R&D center but you were eventually bought out and re-purposed to be a technological history museum, sporting such things as an actual copy of the morris worm's code, a replica of the first computer, a "learn how to code/hack/assemble" space and etc...

got my livereloading react + serverside rendering stuff all working :D now I can actually get started on my project lol. Shame this train is way too full to use my laptop

finally took the time to make my dunst notifications nicer, with a pywal template so they take the colors too

I'm starting to think that the appeal of sandbox games such as Minecraft under late capitalism lies in the players' encounter with a world where not everything is owned and defined already.
Especially for the majority of people that lives in urban surroundings these days, it may well be the first time they find themselves able to interact with their environment and shape something new.
It's closely related to the art of graffiti, redefining and in doing so appropriating the liminal and / or inaccessible spaces that abound in the urban landscape, such as bridges, tunnels, railroads and streets.

hey mastodon friends!

I made a website to try and donate 10,000 mosquito nets to charity (via the Against Malaria Foundation):

giveanet.org/

I don’t do any creepy tracking (no google analytics), and your money goes straight to the charity via their stripe account.

The site is also open source: github.com/justicz/giveanet
