re: developer ideology

@joepie91 and using dangerous tools is a way to prove my superiority

@Vierkantor like when you have multiple types of forks/spoons and you're specifically drawn to one kind

i do wonder what it must be like to be a person with no cutlery preference

@MTRNord it's a very very good design by ianxofour! youtube.com/watch?v=n3mOlrMGjU
The use of lava-casting for the main towers is such a smart trick to make it even easier to build

@joepie91 but it works really well! (at least in the one project I did)

@tobi oh I thought we were going to call them sluts (sloth toots)

GoToSocial is a type of mastodon but much worse, and the developers have Politics and posts aren't called 'toots' they're called 'greased up little slothies', which I believe is some kind of communist thing

@doot@glitterkitten.co.uk paying to not have to see my shitposts kinda sounds worth it tbh

Yes, I know my outspoken views about racism and hate kill a lot of opportunities for me.

Still, I decided a long time ago that I don't want to work for anyone who doesn't want to acknowledge the social realities of living in a hateful society that targets people that are not white.

I don't want to collaborate with anyone that requires me to be silent about what I and the people around me experience on the daily to be comfortable.

@emilygorcenski and have that data seized just as easily, cause all the cloud providers cooperate fully?

baking

mango/coconut clafoutis is in the oven!

struggling to find a new name for this project

am i using that as an excuse to not write code?

also yes

mdn added an "ai explain" button to code blocks and i am fucking seething but also trying not to let it leak out too much in this bug report github.com/mdn/yari/issues/920

like the very act of CWing as unsolicited advice makes the advice solicited because you opened the CW
it's the most charming way to give advice because the act of CWing it makes you go "oh, this is in good faith :)"

Question: Aaaand the final recommendations request is a probably more tricky one... :boost_requested:

I'm looking for "colony manager" style games (think along the lines of RimWorld) but that *aren't* about actual colonies, fighting natives, and so on, but rather about nurturing a healthy community. Something that *doesn't* encode expansionist values.
