every day is weekend

my new monitoring setup just works so well now aaaa

hey nerds did you know #gotosocial has a matrix room for chatting/asking questions/seeing updates/keeping up with the project? well, it does, and it's here

matrix.to/#/#gotosocial:onderg

feel free to drop in IF YOU DARE

gonna put some big thought into a motion control camera rig that would transfer from jib/slider/curved slider

I can still make sure everything is perfectly ready though, so I just have to copy data when it's ready

me: i wish i was a programmer!

monkey's paw: oh uh.. haha uh.. let me check with my supervisor (yeah boss? yeah he added the curse himself.. so i.. ok.. ok) looks like this wish is on the house!

but installing that will cause quite some downtime... so I will have to wait with migrations till that's done...

well, ordered a bunch of things but somewhere this summer should have a working github.com/pikvm/pikvm#diy-get remote KVM setup for the new homeserver

really going into techgore territory here.. it'll fit something like this. That VGA will go into a hdmi converter which goes to a capturecard on the pi-kvm

they publish .step 3d models on the site <3 time to print out and see how it fits in the case.. I screwed off the mounting bracket from the gpu because it'll be backwards in the case lol

after looots of mental rotation/translation visualization on how this would fit in the case + with the motherboard, I found that the R43NR is perfect aliexpress.com/item/1005001631

still hate crypto mining but at least they made some weird hardware available now (FPGA's and cursed pcie adaptors)

@erikk@chaos.social as I read it it should work fine, i guess hardware/cpu wise it makes sense to have 2 pcie slots, there's just no space on top of the (small) motherboard to just have a full slot

@erikk@chaos.social hmmm yeah this should just work, maybe needs a longer cable though aliexpress.com/item/3282895326

@erikk@chaos.social oh yeah that's cool, makes sense since it is just pcie too after all. No way that vertical header would fit though because it's on the bottom of the motherboard..

I should look at generic M.2 to fullsize pcie tho
