fucking need to get to work instead of doing all these other much more fun things

@artemis at least it gives you freedom of clients, but that's about it, yeah...

web design ✨

@elilla @vy really like the idea of this so will definitely try implement something like that in my new site, also with the way my static site gen (shayu.it) parses MDX (mdxjs.com) it would be a great way to represent them while writing

web design ✨

@vy ohh, interesting.
I liked the flex approach but yeah that makes it impossible to do the scrolling 'properly'
I should be working on my assignments though, instead of goofing about css :') curious what you end up with

web design ✨

@vy hmm I think you could do a flex box with flex-wrap? Would only split on elements of course but that could work

web design ✨

@elilla @vy definitely a lot more doable with grids nowadays, basically similar to joshwcomeau.com/css/full-bleed
(which also inspired vy's post i think), and putting the note divs in one of the side columns

subtoot, about tech

@haskal sure, but it was coupled with some "and all other editors are trash"
and like
i use vim bindings in (vs)code (foss build)
use whatever works for you and don't be an ass

subtoot, about tech

fucking browsing the federated TL and you see cursed techbro takes about how everyone should know vim or emacs

@trickster@mastodon.technology actually reading it now, that's exactly the type of layout I was thinking of for my next theme hehe :)

me: wow i'm so well-rested and full of energy, i'm gonna have a really productive day and i will start with [task]

[task]: great, i just have one (1) minor but unexpected roadblock

me: i see, back to bed it is then

@vy @trickster@mastodon.technology CSS animations are really so nice, all my good sites have them (pixie.town at the end, f.0x52.eu colors, cthu.lu header) although the cthu.lu effect optionally adds some JS (works without) to add "true" randomness to the shifting, important part is that it still *animates* through css

@trickster@mastodon.technology @vy You could absolutely build that same effect with CSS animations and have it handled by native code/GPU acceleration

instead they're doing it in JS *unnecessarily* :/

I get very annoyed at the "oh all js bad" takes but devs like this sure don't help the cause
