instead they're doing it in JS *unnecessarily* :/

I get very annoyed at the "oh all js bad" takes but devs like this sure don't help the cause

I added some unnecessary, extravagant css animations to my work stuff, and I’ve seen how on lower-end hardware, or when the load is high, the browser just skips it. Desired behavior, and it took no extra work from me!

@vy @trickster@mastodon.technology CSS animations are really so nice, all my good sites have them (pixie.town at the end, f.0x52.eu colors, cthu.lu header) although the cthu.lu effect optionally adds some JS (works without) to add "true" randomness to the shifting, important part is that it still *animates* through css
