in that you accept federation with instance x you transitively accept their federation list too (or specifically choose not to?)
as for new instances, i think it would make sense for them to the 'trust' of an existing account on an already trusted instance, ie branching out from the existing community instead of joining from the outside
dunno if that makes sense or if it would work, and i certainly don't have the time/spoons to take up yet another project but i think it's interesting to brainstorm
@doubleDensity i got to a state where most my utility scripts, bar, etc aren't too tightly coupled to the WM, so they adapted well going from i3, to dwm, to herbstluftwm and now bspwm
perhaps one of these days i'll check out one of the wayland tilers again but eh

read Angela Davis' "Are Prisons Obsolete". if you're not for prison abolition idk why you're even on this site, but reading her work *also* lets you defend it better when you're telling your relatives to support prison abolition so you don't just end up capitulating to milquetoast liberal reform. it's 100-odd pages and eminently more readable than anything written by a continental white philosopher dude.
