@trysdyn I mean that wouldn't save me from getting tangled and left in a compromising position any D:
Good news story!
Switzerland said "no" to Palantir after 7 years of Palantir lobbying
Journalists FOIA'd and published this
Now other nations are looking into the extraordinary pressure and whether it might not be prudent to let a USA-aligned corp handle citizens' most private data (medical, tax, residence, assets, etc).
we must have made them very nervous, since lawmakers in Germany and UK are questioning the contracts. It is possible that authorities are hesitating to sign new contracts. So we have triggered something that they are starting this PR campaign against us (I don't remember another media company being mentioned on their blog).
All of this thread https://infosec.exchange/@adfichter/115826298160548686 is encouraging! Now while the story is hot, it is a great time to email your local journos and ask if maybe your municipality, state/dept/province, or nation is being pressured to work with Palantir or other authoritarian-aligned corporations!

@deejvalen eep! Noooo-
Particularly as we watch the abject failure of US media, I find it hard to believe that fewer than 8,000 Canadians want to get foreign ownership out of Canadian media.

@rezzish the ideal timeline where Square just got the license to the Fighting Fantasy name and subsumed TSR when it went out of business not long after
@LukaTheMouse Oh nice! I missed that

I just realized part of why these things are being pushed to be used by managerial types. On top of the pie-in-the-sky promise of getting more work done in less time (bullshit), they are unaware of the shortcoming these things have because it takes an actual working knowledge of a subject to find the numerous flaws in their outputs a lot of the time.
And goodness knows, most management knows *nothing*
FUCK we just got an eviction notice, need to be out of here by the 12th January cause they will come in and kick us out and take our stuff then if we're not! need money NOW please!!!

@pup_hime @lenalia @RetroHeart Yeah, it's Quintet and they're known for being surprisingly heavy, so you won't be seeing the same sort of charm of Little Tail Bronx or anything
@trysdyn and now these days it's probably preferrable for an electrical fault to take out a datacenter
...which isn't an attempt to incite any electric-type pokemon to induce such faults, certainly
@minneyar That sounds like an "unplug and service immediately" kind of issue, yeah. ![]()
