@Jo well, those combos are in the realm of $40 and are rated well so they are worth a shot if you get them from somewhere that takes returns

@Jo the first thought that springs to mind is finding a lapdesk you like the look of and adding one of the more entry-level logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combos like the MK270, 360, or 470, basic but passable

Is there any sort of lower limit for configuration you're looking for though?

In the US, you have to be vigilant about hate.

Not paying attention to what you are reading, watching, and consuming will have you hating people you don't even know and voting for people that make careers from exploiting that ignorance.

@f0x Yeah, I'm running into that issue too. I need to figure something out again myself with my new laptop in play

@Roxy I've looked into it, and plush.city, mastodon.art, and possibly gamedev.lgbt look like viable options

Also I found this pretty moth :artcataww: It's a Crimson-speckled Footman (Utetheisa pulchella)

My daughter, who has had a degree in computer science for 25 years, posted this observation about ChatGPT on Facebook. It's the best description I've seen:

Audio tech troubleshooting, opinions welcome :boost_ok:

So I have an old E-mu Proteus 2 rackmount synth that I got off Kijiji, but since plugging it in after my move, I discovered the audio output is frequently dropping out, most audible on sustained samples.

I'm suspecting the DAC's capacitors are toast, since I don't notice any sort of sign of power fluctuation (the LED panel stays lit for example) or data issue (the MIDI input light flashes in time with all events logged) but I know a few people I follow are tech heads too so can anyone weigh in with a second opinion?
