@obsidianical@tech.lgbt well whats the point of being here if you don't get to know the people

@obsidianical@tech.lgbt you should try Fostering More Actual Relationships with Mutuals. that Usually helps

unpaused my music by going to the next track and the kitty's head jumped up into the air.. oopssy

reallllly stretching it now, re: foss, funding, politics-adjacent

@Kye@tech.lgbt @joepie91 i'd guess a bunch of trans people do rust because it's hard and being so undeniably externally queer induces a strong pressure to prove yourself to society. and rust is hard.

(and as an optional-ish bonus, the safety is something you usually want if you've been traumatized before. nice reassurance)

re: foss, funding, politics-adjacent

@Kye@tech.lgbt @joepie91 boring not-bad-not-great/beautiful go code doesn't seem very interesting to work on, espc if you have A Job where you also write similarly boring code. i'm guesstimating rust has such a strong community because it's challenging and Generally Weird

viewing Current Development Practices from a individualistic PoV they first start their project for fun (maximizing the weirdness they can handle for their own motivations) and *then* get funded if it happens to, as a side-effect(?), get popular

@therealkuu@chaos.social there's also a webby site, and she's pretty active on discord you might get along wiki.sumianvoice.com/
