has anyone considered the possibility that like

aliens are just interested in human drugs

what if they came here and instead of "take me to your leader"

they were like

take me to your dealer

One day Columbus day will be an artefact of the past that is only on calendars as a historic footnote.

And instead indigenous peoples day will reign supreme.

Land back motherfuckers.

In case anyone was wondering why today of all days is Indigenous People's Day.

It was started as a way to combat Columbus day.

As indigenous voices actually started to be listened to in some capacity in the US, vocal advocates explained "hey, fuck columbus day. We never celebrated it as a family and I think it's fucked that my children have to learn about their oppressor as a hero at school"

And schools listened. And cities listened to the schools. And states have started to listen to the cities.

Indigenous People's Day is taking over Columbus day.

It being today is an active sign that resistance does work, people are listening, and we can change things bit by bit by sticking with it and refusing to budge.

EXCELLENT posts from Vulture today. Great work, keep it up, proud of you

"let people enjoy things" thought, pt 3

@schrodingers_cat@rage.love ohhh i did find the original quote, by Anita Sarkeesian: "It's both possible, and even necessary, to simultaneously enjoy media while also being critical of its more problematic or pernicious aspects.”

OH: "Just remember you can't spell imposter without 'im post'."

Detroit isn't the best city, sure.

But the vitriolic hatred of it and the using Detroit as second hand for shitty and run down is straight up racism at work. There's a reason motown came from Detroit.

It's a city that has been improving every year after a cataclysmic industry crash.

And it's doing well

"people put up this 'billboard' to hoist up depictions of the different gods they were worshipping"

"people would say 'please like and subscribe' to each other as parting words wishing each other happiness and prosperity"

"people could buy transit tickets for cheaper if they first performed a ritual called 'watching an ad'"
