transphobia, general ignorance, yes you guessed it, video games

@Bryanne@radical.town Oof. I also bought the game a while ago. The gameplay was great.

@Zoidtes@mastodon.social It's terrible when something like this happens. A recent study found that over 10% of the circumcisions they tracked were botched in some way: spuonline.org/abstracts/2018/P

There is no requirement in the US to record or report botched circumcisions. I was circumcised so tight that my skin would sometimes tear and bleed when puberty started. Restoring my foreskin has helped a lot with that.

Only a consenting adult should be able to choose to cut parts of their genitals off. All children need to be protected from genital cutting, whether they are male, female, or intersex.

the most important feature i can possibly contribute for linux 5.4:

"linux now supports up to 3 floppy drive controllers. wtf?? who needs this"

old tech and how it is still important

computer tech from the 1980s is still everywhere, hiding behind the scenes in everything we do, and isn't going away anytime soon

the faa uses 386 and 486 at clones running from floppies to control airplane runway lighting

that i know of, both 3.5" and 5.25" floppies are also used in textile manufacturing, as well as metal machining for aircraft parts. the most accurate cnc machines still use these and use custom interfaces, so floppy emulators aren't an option

@popefucker@cybre.space She had to go to the vet today. Apparently she has bad allergies that are making her itch a lot, so much that some of her fur is coming out.

@ky0ko I work at a computer repair shop, and we still copy data off of 5.25" floppies for people occasionally. We still use 3.5" floppies regularly too, our software for mirroring and erasing hard drives runs off of a floppy.

@Elizafox Here's another video about IGM by an intersex person who was left intact: youtube.com/watch?v=9A1rO3eDVM

intersexroadshow.blogspot.com/
California is the only state with a law restricting operations on intersex minors, and New York is working on a bill right now.

@Elizafox Yeah, it's terrible. It's also still not uncommon for intersex children to be castrated, even when there is no medical reason for it. The "normalization" operations are often done for social reasons, and they can cause a lot more harm than good.
Here is a good video by an intersex person who had this done to them: youtube.com/watch?v=9yHAYOvTdM They were born with external genitals that appeared female, and internal testes. They were castrated shortly after birth, and because of that, they had to take hormones to go through puberty.

oh my god my cs professor is presenting his slides in emacs org mode

horrible US history fact:

The US used to forcibly sterilize the mentally disabled and ill as part of a eugenics program

and yes, the Nazis were inspired by it

and I don't think the US has ever truly reconciled it's past

instead, we just buried it, just like American businessmen links with Nazis

Receipt paper is carcinogenic.
Avoiding receipts by stealing everything.

@dragon I did the same thing on PureOS, which also doesn't have 32 bit repos

@thufie Yeah, that's really annoying. I wish there was a key combo to just cancel the current stop job and move on.

@ghostwife@mastodon.social I'm pretty sure, can't remember that far back though.

@haskal I have a dual link DVI KVM switch for my GPU passthrough. I hardly need to use the passthrough now though, with proton/dxvk.
