@Pyretta Genital cutting is common in Islam, almost universal for males, and common for females in many places. I wonder how intersex children were treated.

However, my parents said that part of the reason they had me circumcised is because it had to have a medical benefit if it was done in the old testament.
I was cut so tight that my skin would sometimes tear and bleed, but restoring my foreskin has helped with that.

@jordyd@octodon.social @popefucker@cybre.space Outside of the US, and some parts of Africa, Christians don't circumcise. Galatians 5 even says that circumcision severs you from Christ.

@popefucker@cybre.space In the US circumcision was introduced in the late 1800s by a few Seventh Day Adventists, including John Kellogg, as a way to punish boys for masturbating. All of the other excuses were created after it had already caught on.
