Female Genital Mutilation in the US

Currently, there are 21 states that have no law against FGM, only California has a law restricting intersex genital mutilation, and there are no laws against male genital mutilation. All children need to be protected from genital cutting without consent, whether they are male, female, or intersex.

Female Genital Mutilation in the US

Last November, a judge ruled that the 1996 federal law banning Female Genital Mutilation in the US was unconstitutional, in part because it did not protect all sexes equally, and because it did not fall under the Necessary and Proper Clause or the Commerce Clause of the constitution. Brian Earp explains this better than I can: youtube.com/watch?v=qc2-NB9nWt

Female Genital Mutilation in the US

A friend sent this to me today: reuters.com/article/us-usa-rel

A woman in Kentucky from a strict christian family had her genitals mutilated along with her sister when she was 5 years old almost 40 years ago.

Cutting the genitals of children before they can consent is wrong.

@SuperDicq@floppy.tokyo Fedilab and Tusky are a couple options. Neither work under the android emulation layer on my Blackberry Classic.

>The German Federal Office for Information Security (or the Bundesamt fur Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik -- BSI) has issued security alerts today warning about dangerous backdoor malware found embedded in the firmware of at least four smartphone models sold in the country. Impacted models include the Doogee BL7000, the M-Horse Pure 1, the Keecoo P11, and the VKworld Mix Plus (malware present in the firmware, but inactive). All four are low-end Android smartphones. The BSI said the phones' firmware contained a backdoor trojan named Andr/Xgen2-CY.

@Food DXVK/Proton work with a lot of games. For games that you can't get running natively, a virtual machine with hardware passthrough works well if you have hardware that supports it.

@haskal I'm copying to some spinning rust right now too. I have some cheap 4TB SAS drives resilvering into one of my arrays.

Like other tech megacorps, Apple hates the copyleft exemplified by the GNU General Public License... Its latest MacOS replaces the GPL'd Bash shell with MIT (weak open source license) licensed Zsh instead. Here're some past GPL purges from Apple: meta.ath0.com/2012/02/05/apple

@prydt@niu.moe I haven't done much with docker yet, just LXC containers. I have worked on docker containers for some clients at work.

@prydt@niu.moe Proxmox makes it easy to manage lxc containers and QEMU/KVM VMs from a web interface. You can easily install it on top of Debian stable.

@schlink@octodon.social Apple refuses to use newer versions of GNU software because of the switch to GPLv3.
