Covid vax, conspiracy shitpost
5G upgrade just dropped. Got some better longevity, improved anti-virus security features. I wish it'd patch some existing sound fidelity issues, but the quality of life still isn't too bad.
I'll be resting up a bit today, letting the immune system apply the patch. Huzzah for boosters!
I'm releasing an alpha version of my new self-hosting-oriented cloud service called Greenhouse today!
Right now the service is free for early-adopters. Help me make self-hosting "radically easier"!!
@aurynn if it's helpful, you're very welcome to stop by Cyberia's matrix server and get an account from us to poke around. https://cyberia.club/matrix
There's also some cool motion in xmpp and an open source discord alternative that just opened up to alpha, iirc. @j3s might remember that name better than I do.
Wasabi keeps breaking into my roommate's bedroom at all hours so she put up a sign. It's not going well #DailyCatPic #CatsOfMastodon #MastoCats #cats
@brianna This makes some sense, though, IMO. Colorway is how the rest of the world outside of tech would describe a set of colors on a product.
Not all Firefox users need to be technical.
I think that re-name is maybe kinda cool. I hope it gets more folks off chrome.
The idea of 'beyond browser' movement is a little concerning, though.
psa: diwali 🪔 tw: caste violence
friendly reminder that not all indians celebrate diwali. it is specifically celebrated savarna/upper caste hindus but is rooted in violence toward dalit, bahujan, and adivasi/indigenous peoples both in its traditions and scriptures and its societal impact on these communities for the last 1000+ years.
it’s also often a time of violence toward muslims and religious minorities (much like other savarna holidays).
so proceed with a little care, leave your assumptions, and bring the desire to unlearn/relearn when you are faced with a holiday like this from a place/region/culture you probably don’t know much about to begin with.
for more info, check out content from @dalitdiva and @other_collective on twitter or instagram. or ask me and we can talk about it resources.

You know how the Eiffel Tower won the Grand Prize at the 1889 World Fair? Well, it had to share the glory with a book.
Not any book: A book ENTIRELY WOVEN IN SILK.
You heard right. And nerds, get this: All pages of this book were produced on the Jacquard loom in 1889, using thousands (200k-500k) of punch cards. Only 50-60 copies were made. >
Hey!
What's the best game development method/platform/etc. for creating 2D, 8-bit-ish games, as quickly as possible?
My go to is always Pico-8 or tic-80 or Love2D if I think they are asking from a "I want to learn how games work" perspective, but the question was asked of me today from a new perspective.
Basically, I have a competent computer user (and artist) who is not a developer and has no interest in becoming one, who wants to create a (very simple) computer game Fast.
ok the results of a longer trial for covid-19 vaccines in 5 to 12 year olds has come out
and i think i have a new top "adverse event that has to be reported for vaccines" https://twitter.com/jbenton/status/1453375910695026700
"ingestion of a penny" might even top my two favourites from the adult vaccine trials, "genital herpes" and "pregnancy"
i like kind machines. pro-people-not-dying. anti-nazi. anti-colonizer. pagan, but lazy about it.
I am #HardOfHearing, #nonbinary, polyamourous, into ttrpgs and #tech. Hobbyist #leatherworker, hobbyist scifi author, community builder, and artist.
I like to build #whimsical things that help people to #dream better and form meaningful connections. If you wanna hang out with friendly computer weirdos in Minneapolis, lemme know.
Profile image description: a watercolor painting of a person with pale skin and brown and blue hair laughing. They have a side cut and an audio processor is visible behind their ear. The art style is loose and the eyes are squinched into little crescents.
