Mtg, proxy, menstruation

Helped a friend finish up proxies for his cube today.

Live human event tonight, Minneapolis

To celebrate Ground Zero Nightclub in Minneapolis (finally) requiring vaccination for entry, I'll be doing cool stuff in the back room with computers and Barbie Glamtastic Texters.

Also, there'll be some visuals courtesy of a collaboration between cyberia.club and livecode.nyc up until midnight cst, so you might wanna check that out, too.

I'll be the nerd with the laptop, crop top and n95 aura mask, feel free to say hi! :)

Queer

Shamelessly stolen from Cyberia's matrix room. Bless u @j3s .

I've been experimenting with some pastel pens lately.

Feedback/critique welcome, this feels very weird and new. :)

@Curator

Have a little sunset painting. I got a little lazy about making hollows at the base of the trees (it was dark!) so it seems a little like it's just kudzu all over. 😅

I hope you like it!

Art, sunset, trauma, wip

It got dark while I was roughing in the treeline. I started on the left and by the time I got to the right, I was working petty much blind. I like the right side better. Still plenty more to go.

Art, sunset, trauma

I'm working through some trauma around relaxing and doing art in an unstructured way. Today, I took a walk and tried to do some on my own. It's harder on me emotionally than I thought it would be. Waiting for paint to dry, listening to the crickets chirp, and breathing the green, earthy summer air.

Hearing tech, guide to getting started, illustrated comic

I drew up a basic comic guide to getting started with the tympan audio processor as an assistive device. Plan to spend around $350+ including mounting stuff and headphones.

Apologies for the lack of full transcriptions, I'm kinda tired. Please let me know if you need them for personal use, though, and I can type them up for ya.

Mushroom painting

Have a little mycelial pal.

Food, fancy(?) coffee recipe

Today, I made a chocolate orange antoccino to match the chocolate orange Milano cookies I had. It turned out really well, though maybe it's too close to how the cookies taste to be the best pairing. 😅

1. Make espresso in aeropress
2. Add some baking cocoa powder to espresso, maybe 3/4 teaspoon?
3. Add five drops of orange essential oil, add a little sugar if you want
4. Whip espresso, chocolate, and oil together with frothing wand
5. Steam milk in columnator thingie and add that to cup
6. Drink!

Critique request, watercolor, surrealish landscape

Thanks for the feedback. Here's how it looks today

Critique request, watercolor, surrealish landscape

I got stressed and painted this thing today. It doesn't feel done, but I'm not sure what it's missing... I would like it to feel weirder and to have a stronger sense of space/place.

I think I like how the water came out, overall. It feels liquid. I don't think the sun and building worked out how I thought they would, but I'm not sure what to do different next time. The sky feels boring?

I've had kind of a hard day today, so I'd appreciate a soft touch, but critique very welcome.

@Curator

WIP, gaaaaaaaay

WIP, still need to do more work on the water. I think I might leave the text digital if I do prints. I'm so bad at lettering...

Mild nudity, painting of a fat mermaid making eye contact with the viewer

Hey, uh, I think I finished this!

Mild nudity, painting WIP, fat mermaid 💙

I've been working on this lovely lady for a couple of days now. Hopefully I'll finish her by the end of .

I really struggled to find a good reference image for her, so I kinda fudged some of the bits. Also, I'm just still learning a lot. 😅

I enjoy how refreshing it is to draw characters that aren't all bone and muscle, though. It's like I get to break art rules, and also like I'm still drawing something that's more realistic/relatable than standard "art" body types. It feels like being both rebellious and more technically correct at the same time, which is absolutely an intoxicating feeling. If you haven't, I highly suggest you make some art of unusual human bodies. It's good for representation and also just feels so freeing. :)

Finished up a project an ex and I started a while back. It's a cribbage board!

Last week, I bound the sides of the board together with leather strips. Today, I added brass feet to the underside and gave it an oiling and a light sanding.

I might slide a little brass tube down one side to hold some pegs eventually, but I think it's pretty set for some use!
