why the Bubble System has a countdown, infodump

"whats the arcade board doing"

Konami decided to use bubble memory for a couple of their arcade titles, and bubble memory has to be warmed up a bit before being truely ready for use. So it plays a cute jingle (the "Konami Morning Song" as it was called because it'd be heard in the morning by operators as they came in and started everything up.) and has a countdown to give the bubble memory time to get comfy. Sometimes the board will wait a few seconds before loading the jingle, speaking to the operator in a digitized voice:
"PRESENTED BY
KONAMI"
"GETTING READY. 50. GETTING READY. 49." and so on.

once the jingle countdown is over the game is ready to be played. Konami would go on to abandon bubble memory and go back to standard rom chips, due to its vulnurability to magnetic fields present in the cabinets (speakers as an example) that could wipe their contents and render the board useless.
