why dont laptops come with charm attatchment points

@lyncia i love my laptop but this has frustrated me so much. i should drill a point for it in her

@CAETFOOD @lyncia ....oh my god is that a thing. that's so much more polite lol thank you

@lyncia you could maybe misuse the "security port" for that, on laptops that have it

@ireneista the kensington lock port? I dont know how i would but i also dont know anything about the port other than "its where the lock cable goes"

@lyncia yeah that one

you would tie a tiny cord around it (apparently the knot we recommend is called a cow hitch... see illustration)

@ireneista i would need a kensington lock cable + terminate the other end neatly somehow to make a charm loop. unless im looking at this completely wrong, which could be the case

@lyncia it's possible we're remembering what the port is, wrong

@ireneista its a cable you plug in and then the other end is locked onto something not easily movable to prevent easy physical theft. mainly an enterprise thing iirc

@lyncia yeah, mainly an enterprise thing... we looked up what it's like and it doesn't have the cross-bar we thought it did, so, none of our advice applies. oops.

@ireneista hey on the bright side it refreshed my knowledge on the lock cables

@lyncia I could certainly use a way to attach my ALF keychain to the lid when it's up. 🤔

@lyncia @Jaytee I had never thought of this before now but now I am angry that it doesn’t exist.
