it’s also the scariest to discard because, gosh don’t you feel safe with that one around? but not only is it not true, it’s got you on this false model of reality where people just *are* good, amd therefore other people just *are* bad. as a quality of their eternal soul.
“i am a good person” stops you from recognising the pain, and humanity in other people, and instead has you seeing it as a threat to your self image of goodness

it’s a sad fact that so many people who believe they are anti-fascist, and that they would have fought the nazis, nevertheless believe in fascist and bioessentialist ideas about (about)
- intelligence (that it can be measured, and can determine the value of a person),
- evolution (that it progresses in a straight line from ‘bad’ to ‘good’)
- gender (men are dangerous because of their biological makeup, women are weak and vulnerable and need protection )
- immigration (where to start?)
- law (“they” shouldn’t be allowed to vote/the law aligns with morality )
- money ( that you ‘earn’ it through hard work?)
- technology ( unquestioned good for every problem )
- mental health ( people who do evil things are crazy, mentally ill, etc )

Misskey and Sharkey are NOT affected
We'll provide details later, follow this thread for more detail. Magnetar and Iceshrimp.js will receive immediate patches, for EoL forks we can only provide a link to a hot patch once fixes have been rolled out for server owners to use

Relatedly: maybe stop playing by the state's rules? Half the point of infiltration is to create paranoia in the group, and because cops always have more resources than your radical group does, they essentially have full control over how much of your energy gets spent chasing them.
You're not going to get an advantage there. Look for your advantage in strategies and areas that the state (fundamentally) cannot competently deal with, and that they do not have a lot of resources in.

I wish people in activist spaces would spend less time arguing about who is or isn't a cop, and more time figuring out strategies where it doesn't materially *matter* if some people are cops.
Like, you can try reading tea leaves until you're blue in the face but it's just going to cost you a lot of energy that's better spent driving effective change.
