Over the years there's been a couple of folks pushing Web Components very hard, and making one particular argument that has been grating on me: "tools like React are bad tools because they don't support Web Components".
The exact phrasing is usually different, but the implication is always there; Web Components are, well, The Standard(tm) and so anything that doesn't use them is reinventing the wheel and doing so badly.
And it seems like none of these people have ever asked themselves: *why* does it not use WC? WC have been around for a while now, and frameworks have not transitioned to them. Why not? Usually the answer is "because their model is not compatible with them".
And *this* is where things go sour. Because then the answer of WC proponents is usually "well they are badly designed then". And I'm sorry, what? Who made you emperor of design techniques?
If WC are supposedly a neutral standard, yet it cannot support existing widespread usage patterns, *that makes it a bad standard*. It means that your design is too opinionated, and that it's more like a framework than a primitive!
This particular line of reasoning is pretty much the #1 I do not like interacting with WC folks, because sooner or later it always turns into "laundering an opinionated framework design as a standard", and this is what kills agency. We need better building blocks, not an opinion cast down onto us from the heavens.

It could be recreated as an open source project though... QEMU/Wine... Kinda expensive to run as SaaS but a modern computer can easily spawn 50+ parallel browsers in a minute I think

I've linked my work-in-progress chat client in a few places now, and some of the most notable commentary includes "why does it look like basic Qt" and "are you making an IRC client?" which means I'm probably on the right path, given that it's a Matrix client that runs in a browser and the project is partly intended to disprove people's assumptions about what that means

Racism, sexism and bigotry in porn
I remember there once was a meme or a post going around basically saying "are you a white cishet male or are you a porn category?" and I hate how accurate that still is..
Whenever I make the mistake of visiting mainstream porn sites I am reminded that if you want to see people of color, feminine people who aren't straight up underweight, trans people, queerness or otherwise anything that's NOT white people having straight sex you need to look through dedicated kink categories that specifically fetishize minorities. I do not understand how in the year of our lord 2024 it's still ok to have shit like "BBC", "blacked" and other similar "kinks" that reduce people of color to a weird fantasy of dominance on practically all the major porn sites.. If anyone out there is into that while believing it's not blatantly rooted in racism I think they have some serious introspection to do.
