When you listen to The Verge's podcast and they're legitimately saying Mastodon is a "no girls allowed" club? And we don't want Facebook here because Instagram will bring women here?!

(coming out of my well) One of the most insidious, subtle lessons taught to my generation by television is that you can win an insult fight. You can come up with the best comeback and win it; you can totally shut someone down verbally by just saying the right words.

The truth is that this almost never happens, because the people who are wrong enough to deserve this invariably:

-have probably also seen these TV shows
-want the last word
-do not have the decency to admit that you're right/they've lost

Imagine the naps we could take. The alarms we could dismiss without getting out of bed. The entire days we could waste. Together we could do anything. Together we could do nothing.
