I love how nobody in the business world ever talks about how Facebook renamed themselves to Meta because "the metaverse" was going to change how we did everything, which then became a colossal failure and a pathetic joke of a project that cratered spectacularly and they're still just... called that. Named after a spectacular failure. And the market barely even took note

Like. The vast majority of conversation I see about Matrix today is "people trying to figure out how and when to move away from it".
I don't know how much clearer it can be that there's a problem.
Like, they seem insistent on pretending there is no problem with their approach, despite the mounting evidence that things are fucked, and it's infuriating

Een mysterie met de elektrificatie van de Maaslijn is nog niet opgelost. Op dit moment rijden de treinen tussen Venlo en Tegelen onder bovenleiding die permanent op de Duitse spanning van 15 kV staat. Dat kan straks niet meer als er elektrische treinen op de Maaslijn rijden, die onder de Nederlandse 1,5 kV spanning rijden. Hoe dat opgelost gaat worden is al jaren een groot geheim.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you are still allowed to have fun and see friends and eat a slow dinner and celebrate things, even while "all this" is going on. Make your five calls, be part of a protest, pick your piece of "the work" each week but also make sure to nourish yourself and your networks because we are going to continue needing each other.
