@clarfonthey It definitely was!
This has been said many times, but it's worth reiterating...
Dysphoria is a pretty counterproductive framework for identity exploration. It mostly tells you *that* something is wrong, but usually not *how* it's wrong. It can be unclear where to even go from there.
Euphoria, on the other hand, tells you *how* something is *right*, which also implicitly tells you what's wrong. This gives you a lot more information, and is much more useful in finding your identity beyond an abstract "not this".

well, yes, I guess if you compare it with nothing
("Residential proxies" are the thing that they use to come at you from home user IP addresses when you block their servers, to try and evade your block and become undetectable)
Don’t call the messenger (transitous) “trash” please, especially since the träwelling database now has sooooo many more services
Words have consequences, and if you’re framing a community-maintained data source built from the hard work of a few individuals “garbage”, it won’t get any better - rather you’re putting people off from fixing the issues!
It’s especially annoying to see this from techy folks, especially those close to open-source projects, or those who use them - don’t make the space more toxic than it is ffs
@awoo I usually get my laptop batteries in general from 123accu (as I know that they will sort it out if it doesn't work correctly for whatever reason), but they only seem to ship to the Netherlands and Belgium - they do seem to at least have a generic x230 battery
@eloy There's definitely a bias going on there, but I do think there is a certain kernel of truth to it - *a lot* of FOSS culture really does revolve around chasing the currently-hip proprietary thing with a FOSS 'alternative' rather than working to build new, better things that can stand on their own merits.
To my never-ending frustration, because it can be really difficult to find people willing to put work into trying new things 😕

I'm starting to really like 'vibe coding'...
I've now had several clients come to me to take over projects that another agency was working on because the other agency started using generative AI. Apparently there was a real drop in product quality. I wonder why.
Basically vibe coding is making me money specifically because I'm not using it.

@baldur this number is only so low because there are so few well-regarded tech execs.
Thought about linking to one of the few well regarded tech execs writing halfbaked bullshit with a tag along the lines of “This is halfbaked bullshit.” But then I remember that he searches social media for links to his site and mentions of his name and tries to argue with people, and he gets all offended when I reply that I’d rather not, if I’d wanted to debate him I’d have mentioned him directly
Instead comfort yourself knowing there are at least a dozen different dudes this could apply to

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
