@mynameistillian so maybe don't validate to them their idea that some people are inherently lesser and that we all secretly agree with them on that? maybe don't tell them that their enemies are a threat to them because of biological advantages? maybe don't reinforce their idea that eugenics is necessary to control the racialized other and to strengthen their white in-group?
show them that they suck *because of their own actions*, that they have no excuse of race or biology

@mynameistillian to point out that they fall short of their own standards does nothing. hell, a huge chunk of modern nazis are incels who define themselves through self-hatred. they feel entitled to be superior by right of blood and are angry that they aren't, like this was denied to them. 'race realists' will often say black people are stronger, asians are smarter, etc, dispite believing that white people are the most valuable. this is bc other races are seen as threats

@mynameistillian if you can't tear them down verbally without resorting to ableism then you just don't have the rhetorical skill to pick that fight
besides, it's a misapprehension that nazis believe themselves to be inherently genetically superior. the aryan race was a mythical extinct race the nazis sought to rebuild through ugenics, with themselves as the start point. they believe that supremacy was already stolen from them through race-mixing

@mynameistillian what it is is an obstinate refusal to learn, to be better, to accept the reality of living in a society as a member of a social species. it's pathetic
and fuck that person you're talking about. goddamn it is not 'weak' to not accept and reinforce the hateful rhetoric of our enemies. we don't call nazis inbred r-slurs, we punch them in the face
you can be as savage as you want with them but if your only idea for how is to adopt their language then you're lost

@mynameistillian i dislike calling such behaviour childish, even though i share that compulsion, because frankly kids can be amazing, thoughtful and moral people. Where they fail is generally from having unmet needs causing them to 'act out', getting bad guidance from the adults in their lives and a general lack of experience
it feels so natural to call the behaviour of the worst people childish because it's shockingly immature, but it's not childish - it's something worse
TKDB zine workshop on supporting trans kids, food mention, family mention
Trans kids often lack family support. Home can be a hostile environment; they may be in the care system. Found family is one way of talking about alternative support networks but family doesn’t work for everyone - care networks, sibling networks, queer community… there are many ways to talk about the same basic needs
In practical terms this can mean offering quiet spaces to study, or opportunities to cook and be cooked for. Kids in care aren’t allowed to cook in their accommodation and don’t have many opportunities to acquire the skills. Or just a chance to regularly spend time with adults who’ll make space for them and listen. Regular contact and a stable routine is important
Some things I remember from the conversations we had:
“Protect trans kids” is a bad slogan. What does “protect” actually mean? It’s isolating, it’s disempowering, and it doesn’t centre kids’ needs. (The same applies to “protect the dolls”, more or less.) Listen to trans kids. Empower trans kids. Arm trans kids. Metaphorically, with the things they need for autonomy
Kids have very little voice or autonomy, as anyone who remembers being a kid should know. But autonomy for kids doesn’t mean treating them as adults - kids lack resources, knowledge, and experience. They need support to be autonomous
@lilly There are pigeons on top, so it looks complete to me!
I love how nobody in the business world ever talks about how Facebook renamed themselves to Meta because "the metaverse" was going to change how we did everything, which then became a colossal failure and a pathetic joke of a project that cratered spectacularly and they're still just... called that. Named after a spectacular failure. And the market barely even took note
What do these people *need*, what magical incantation do I need to cast to get them to take their head out of their fucking ass
Like. The vast majority of conversation I see about Matrix today is "people trying to figure out how and when to move away from it".
I don't know how much clearer it can be that there's a problem.
Like, they seem insistent on pretending there is no problem with their approach, despite the mounting evidence that things are fucked, and it's infuriating
By this point I honestly don't know anymore what's necessary to make (some specific) Element people understand that they've already breached the trust thermocline and they are rapidly dooming #Matrix if they continue on their current path
good time for spotting fish on the fish doorbell!

Feel free to flirt, but if you want to actually meet up and/or do something with me, lewd or otherwise, please tell me explicitly or I won't realize :) I'm generally very open to that sort of thing!
Further boundaries: boosts are OK (including for lewd posts), DMs are open. But the devil doesn't need an advocate; I'm not interested in combative arguing in my mentions. I am however happy to explain things in-depth when asked non-combatively.
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
