Related question: given the direction the world is heading, I am looking at possibly going back to running our own hardware in a physical rack within our local jurisdication, instead of renting capacity in the cloud.
I am familiar with the usual suspects, but perhaps there are folks with excess rack space on here, or with good suggestions for new players that started in the past 5-10 years?

@whreq Yep, zelfde verhaal voor een hoop andere organisaties, er is ongeveer een 1:1 relatie tussen "pro-Israel zijn" en "in de media geciteerd worden". En het is nou niet echt moeilijk om organisaties te vinden die zich hiertegen uitspreken dus dat is ook geen excuus; onderhand kun je zo ongeveer een willekeurig station inlopen op een actiedag en een demonstrant aanspreken...

Emigration is not a good way of avoiding authoritarian regimes. Sometimes its necessary, especially if the regime is turning violent
But emigrating from one authoritarian state to another will usually leave you genuinely worse off and being a foreigner in even a progressive state is always going to be a very vulnerable position.
Most countries will also outright refuse to give you a work visa if you are too old or disabled.

it's medication shortage season again, so I've done a bit more work on hrt-monitor, my hacky command-line solution for finding stock of the drugs you need at your local Boots pharmacy!
in particular, it now has instructions and somewhat of an actual interface! go take a look if you're in need of HRT (or anything else!) but can't find it :)
"But I know some cool tech people!" - sure, and even if they are as cool as you think you are (which they might be!), the tech *industry* will still require them to do horrible things that go against everyone's best interests
I'm not sure I can say this much more clearly: I work in the tech industry and you should absolutely not trust the tech industry with anything, including tech.

@Tak "Feeling like it's pretty reasonable to..." is irrelevant - it's still DRM, whichever way you slice it. You cannot play the game in full without going through Steam's authentication system. This is particularly relevant since this system usually is *instead of* local multiplayer connectivity. Whether it's 'reasonable' simply isn't a factor here, 'reasonable' DRM (by your standards anyway) is still DRM.
And I honestly have no idea what you're going on about re: updates. I'm not suggesting to provide an offline installer *instead of* the current system. I am suggesting that they should be *also* providing an offline installer. Not doing so is a deliberate choice and a form of DRM, counting on most people not knowing how to extract game files, ie. obscurity.
