I'm not sure I can say this much more clearly: I work in the tech industry and you should absolutely not trust the tech industry with anything, including tech.

"But I know some cool tech people!" - sure, and even if they are as cool as you think you are (which they might be!), the tech *industry* will still require them to do horrible things that go against everyone's best interests
