salty, programming, JS, "you"
And no I don't care if you think it is "moving the ecosystem forward", the material reality is that you are sabotaging people's ability to rely on the tools they are using, and you are a giant asshole for it.
If you think that "moving the ecosystem forward" is done by deliberately breaking people's shit without technical necessity, then your visions of the future are garbage accelerationist bullshit
Calling it "adulting" makes a lot of sense because "adult" is a culturally constructed role. When you are "adulting" you are often performing tasks to satisfy society, not yourself. You are doing tasks that have been obligated to complete simply by virtue of being an "adult".
Current status: trying to work out how to do stemming in different languages reliably despite the frankly shit language coverage in many relevant libraries
bitwarden, enshittification, etc., personal frustration
@kmeisthax There's a couple news articles about it but basically they're starting to try and insert a proprietary SDK into everything, and also have conveniently hired the developer of another FOSS 'compatible' client
I have extended my tech corp detection to corps in general by also detecting a "Careers" button
Not happy about the CPU time yet; it's currently clocking somewhere between 15 and 50 milliseconds of CPU time per request, which really isn't acceptable, so that needs much more optimization I think. Profiler time, I guess?
lmfao, I've implemented a feature that ignores tech company sites effectively by looking for any occurrence of the text 'Pricing' as the sole content of a HTML element
@rail_ (And Free, by some definition, though that was a bit of a weird special case)
@rail_ Also thinking of A&A, XS4ALL, etc.
@rail_ For what it's worth, basically every single thoroughly reputable ISP I know of, in any country, started out of spite with the existing industry, after someone concluding pretty much the same thing... so yeah, that sounds like a good plan (assuming you're prepared to deal with the complexity)
In the process of moving to @joepie91. This account will stay active for the foreseeable future! But please also follow the other one.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
