Idea: a web search engine that has an index of exactly 256GB. As soon as it's full, it starts throwing away old index data and replaces it with new items. The same query might result in completely different results the next day.

More explanation: they tested a monitor in an environmental chamber at -40 C and it started showing red ghost banding exactly like my phone has been doing since the screen replacement. Their explanation was that the driver was having trouble driving the crystals hard enough to twist them under those temperatures.

This made me think back to the correlation I'd noticed where my screen exhibited more banding issues when the phone was stored in a warm area (even if the screen was turned off!), and the replacement screen was missing a foam pad on the back that the original screen did have.

I think the pad was meant to insulate the screen against heat from the SoC to prevent it from getting warm enough to cause driver issues? And now that protection isn't there, and so whenever the phone is warm, it's causing the screen to have issues.

Dus, beste Remco Saedt, je weet niet op voorhand wie de raddraaiers zijn, maar je weet op magische wijze wel dat het een groep is die "actief alle kermissen af gaat"? Terwijl je niet weet wie het zijn? Wat is het nou, weet je het nou wel of niet?

Of zoek je vooral misschien gewoon een reden om je racistische opmerking goed te kunnen praten, door een zogenaamde groep met buitenlanders te verzinnen?

@vfrmedia @vantablack A story from the Netherlands, Dordrecht: there was a local Occupy camp here, and after a while we started wondering where some people were coming from. We supported them as much as we could, but they were clearly in need of serious help, and didn't seem to know anything about why we were there, what the whole activism thing was about.

Then we found out that the local Salvation Army maintains a banlist for their local homeless shelter, banning anyone who has 'caused too much disruption' (usually folks with severe drug problems) from their shelter. They were telling all of those people to go sleep in our camp instead. Without ever talking to us about it even once, without bothering to check whether we were prepared to handle this.

None of us were trained for this shit, and they were the local-government appointed organization that *should* have been dealing with this!

That's not even talking about the *many* stories going around about their sketchy business deals with private care organizations, which nobody seems to ever have properly investigated, unfortunately.
