Sometimes I like to do an online internet web sites search for supposed ‘tactical gear’ to see what kind of ridiculous things come up. Today we have:

The problem with books is that there are *so many of them* that if you donate them to a library or a thrift store, they are very likely to end up in the trash because they do not immediately look like something high-demand. Because they likely get far more books inbound than there is demand for them.
Of course if you can get a guarantee that they won't be trashed then it'd still be useful, but IME most places are not willing to make such guarantees for precisely this reason, and so it may be easier to give them (or sell them for a nominal fee to discourage resellers) to some place or person that you *know* has an actual interest in those specific books.
(Of course if you have a local hackerspace, computer club, etc. then they might be happy to take them on as well!)

The link below from @schratze is giving me PTSD flashbacks from when I first started working in games. One of my duties was getting the cell phone games I was working on translated into other languages.
Trying to fit a 20 character German word onto a menu item on a 128x128 cell phone screen with the localization guy telling me repeatedly that there's no shorter way of writing the word was a very special kind of hell.

*everyone sits down for story time* Come children, imagine with me a group of people who are being made to have an extra rough go at things, and against whom all forms of abuse are normalized, defended, and exacerbated both by institutions and individuals, simply because they survived unimaginable brutality in any condition at all when it was hoped they wouldn't
Imagine they make a tool to protect themselves from the bigoted nonsense that other people routinely dish out whether those other people see it as bad or not
Now imagine that people from groups who benefited from the abuse of their predecessors and continue to benefit from continued abuse of them try to intentionally interfere with that tool as a *joke*

Silicon Valley is a direct pipeline to the surveillance state. Remember that Ring Cameras went from being a super-neat Amazon product to a surveillance network that can be accessed by police in real time.
Everything that can be used against us, will be used against us unless we fight and get privacy protections in place from the get-go.

@bikeshed I believe ever since most of the population started to think of COVID as a virus deadly only for disabled people in early 2022, due to state propaganda but also due to experiencing or witnessing mild enough infections from the original Omicron, the latent ableism throughout society permitted a lot of people including many anarchists to give up on COVID.
I think the lack of a militant anti-eugenics movement is a big reason why shit is bad.
