@SleepyCatten Some people are "worried" because it looks like more and more kids are becoming trans and/or non-binary nowadays. But the simple answer is: it used to be much more repressed. The same thing happened when schools stopped forcing kids to write with their right hand. "Suddenly" more and more kids were lefthanded. But eventually it hit a plateau at 9-10%. It's not that there weren't any lefthanded kids before - they were forced into invisibility.

I’m looking to leave my country (Italy, i live approximately in the middle), my current target is germany, currently the main issue for me is figuring out how I’m supposed to move my stuff from here to there, as moving companies from anywhere i know are extremely shady and usually mishandle things, the amount of stuff i need to move isn’t too large (it’s mostly a subset of the contents of 1 room), probably would fit in a regular car. Does anyone know what sort of service I could use as an alternate

@ailnoth I think it's a bit more nuanced than that - they don't seem to be vying for direct central control exactly, but rather running an influence campaign to discourage defederation.
Those motivations seem credible - from a freeze peach perspective, defederation is a thing to avoid, and to convince others not to do.
@scanlime Hmm. Anything you're looking at in particular? Browsing through their site a bit, it seems a bit more like 'reclaiming the idea of a metaverse to mean an actually interoperable ecosystem', but maybe there's something I'm missing.

@erincandescent@queer.af Or in other words, this is basically the equivalent of those guys we all know who are shitty to people in a chat for months, eventually get banned, and then claim "I've been banned for saying one word and that's unfair!" after it being repeatedly explained to them that their pattern of behaviour was the problem.

@erincandescent@queer.af Right, that's the "single user" I was referring to. And indeed this is not the actual reason why they're fediblocked at all, as has been explained to them over and over.
I can therefore only read his claim as one in bad faith - he has had every opportunity to understand the *actual* reason for the blocks, and taken none of them, instead choosing to perpetuate his own narrative.
