I'm starting a small call for entries for a yet-to-exist 'zine on tech for resting, being lazy, letting be, and having a break. Share wide and far.
--
For the first Fallow Zine, la Jachère is interested in contributions about the following topics, but not limited to them.
- Lazy tech or tech for the lazies
- Tech that falls into place, fits, is just enough
- Tech for rest, pause, have a break, take a breath
- Tech for preservation, of the status quo, of energy, of a moment, of equilibrium

- Deadline: 21. June 2022 (more or less… deadlines are thresholds to play with)
cis people LOVE to be like "ik this is controversial and idk if im allowed to say this because im cis but (transphobic take) (transphobic take) (extremely transphobic take) (facts twisted in bad faith) (transphobic take)" and all the other cis people in the room will be like "THANK you ive been too scared to say that!"
Transphobia in policy, prison reform policy, ACAB
It's funny that they came to an abolitionist organization and abolisionist activist for input on their horrifically transphobic policy, and tried to pull the "see were doing amazing work"
Like nah if you wanna make prisons better for trans people how bout you start off by doing away with prisons as a whole, and gender based correctional policy on top of that
Fuck cops, fuck the industrial prison complex
@f0x I mean, the idea itself is pretty good actually, the dystopian component is really just in how they'd be used by employers; as an argument that surely doing overtime wouldn't be such an issue and why would you bother going home at all
ooh Framework released the mainboard schematics! https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/Mainboard/blob/main/Electrical/Mainboard_Interfaces_Schematic.pdf
@RixRaw (I think you can combine it with "playing URLs that youtube-dl understands")
@RixRaw Not *quite* what you're asking for, but sort of close: https://syncplay.pl/
@devurandom@cybre.space @Dee Anecdata does appear to confirm this to be true
@f0x Ah yeah, for funding proposals it can get a lot hairier...
@f0x (General rule of thumb is that acquisition - of employees, freelancers, even products - is a process that in and of itself costs money, so as long as you're not being an asshole, people aren't likely to just walk, because they'd be throwing away a sunk cost)
@f0x Well, sort of; if it's 1:1 negotiations, then they've probably already decided that they want to hire you, and so if the ask is too high, they'll negotiate rather than walk away
In the process of moving to @joepie91. This account will stay active for the foreseeable future! But please also follow the other one.

Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
