I am 😎 mentally and emotionally struggling right now, so the idea of learning how to use a whole new software makes me want to melt into a puddle and cry

Which is why having people ON the team who can do those things and aren't close to burning out and running into the woods is great!

It's a small team purely run by volunteers, so if you have some skills and time that you would want to put to this - volunteer

If you come into my mentions and are pissed that Im using zoom - go away

Alright so.
Someone got real rude to me and told me that they didn't go to my (free) talk last night cause it's on Zoom.

So - if you want @SummerSchool to have some FOSS things the best way to do that is to help us as organizers.

We reached out to some folks, and we couldn't afford their prices

And since we don't charge for the conference we only have our personal money to pay for things, so you know
barriers

So if you want to help out, when calls for volunteers for organizing comes - join!

also reminder you can get free seftests at , at infodesk, heaven, LHQ

please get them and please use them!

We just made a release candidate (rc1) for v0.3.8 of GoToSocial!

We're trying to be a bit more careful with releases from now on, to avoid introducing regressions and issues by moving too fast.

Adventurous GtS admins: if you feel like testing v0.3.8-rc1, it's available right now and your feedback would be very much appreciated!

binaries can be downloaded and installed as normal from:

github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/releases/tag/v0.3.8-rc1

the docker tag is superseriousbusiness/gotosocial:0.3.8-rc1

full release notes will appear for the proper v0.3.8 release when it's ready, but for now you can see the changes in the changelog :)

Hearing tech, guide to getting started, illustrated comic

I drew up a basic comic guide to getting started with the tympan audio processor as an assistive device. Plan to spend around $350+ including mounting stuff and headphones.

Apologies for the lack of full transcriptions, I'm kinda tired. Please let me know if you need them for personal use, though, and I can type them up for ya.

Ready for another day of #MCH2022!

Ran out of rapid self tests? There are plenty at the info tent - come get some!

Don't forget to test for COVID-19! You can pick up rapid self-tests at the info tent.
